Art Bell has been complaining about this exact thing (the length of the long form) for the last several days on his radio show. And I agree with him.

The point he makes is that the 4th Amendment to the Constitution guarantee's a citizen's right to privacy. A census is also in the Constitution, but is supposed to be just a "headcount" (sorry, I don't have the specific language of it). He says he'll just fill out the questions he wants to fill-out, and if they want to fine him the $100, they can go for it.

Do you know how they determine which form you're responsible for filling out? Is it just "luck of the draw"??

-Joe

Starwalt,

If the information on the long form is really needed, why are only 1 in 6 being sent the long form? Is this just like the luck of the draw that Republicans seem to get with the IRS audits? And who but a burgler would want to know when you leave for work every day? :) Here are some of those intrusive questions that are being asked, from a site that seems to have some good articles on the subject:

WHAT THE CONSTITUTION SAYS ABOUT THE CENSUS

several states which may be included within this union, according to

within three years after the first meeting of the Congress of the United
States, and within every subsequent term of ten years, in such manner
as they shall by law direct."
