HOWDY 2 FRIENDS OF TECHRIDE - ONLY !! It's like Blue sez!
Back Home from NooYawkCity, returning from a search for that legendary Neighborhood pubcrawl on St. Paddy's Day ... took two long taxi rides around the city deciding not to join where the happening action was: in the freezing cold streets because those esconced in the pubs since mid-afternoon weren't giving up their seats! The first ride let us off by a place that looked halfway decent from the outside, and wasn't (so there was no line there) and it was in a scary neighborhood (one of those that looks fine til ya walk it and get a closer look at the denizens) so we got back in the road and hailed another cab quick. Then (give up? U know me better'n that!) a taxi tour thru a couple smaller areas of Irish pubs but it was too cold to stand in the lines of Giant Green Hatted Folks breathing steam outside them. So we finally wound up back right next door to our hotel in a seats-available steakhouse with an Irish name ... a deadsville place at first with no scheduled entertainment - but then the fun broke out in a blither of imitation Irish accents when some Canadian tourists started spouting inspired round-robin epic poems about foggy bogs housing plaid-wearing leprechauns who might either smack folks upside the head with shillealeghs before disappearing or give out pots of gold, depending on circumstances - and ended up who knows where! This was really more fun than watching it happen on a stage .... and then some Boys In Blue (who sure DO know where to eat!) saved the day and played their bagpipes for the nice people just in time for our dessert. The grand-finale sight of young comely lassies solo dancing like Riverdance faeries blatantly flirting with these strapping lads would've made Scrooge smile! And that late dinner was the best plate of Bay Scallops I ever tasted anywhere. Had a great evening, unexpectedly - had almost given up on finding "The Green Spirit" - and there it was, At Home!!
Brought to mind the good kind of cyber-time we'uns insist on enjoying around this very board - as Spoiled Brats Of The 909 DO and Always Will.
In Honor Of The Day Eggs Stand On End ....
I'll ask this nicely, once -
Disruptoids, PLEEZE skedaddle, Leave Us Alone.
