Mani,

Athlon LINPACK results article

Those results are impossible. Our resident benchmark policeman has informed us that PIII blows away Athlon on benchmarks, and anyone who posts to the contrary is a liar. ;^)

Main, Re: Linpack.
Zounds, the Athlon thrashes the P-III, the seeming game parity is an artifact of the accelerator lacking 'headroom'
No wonder there was a wailing and a gnashing of teeth from Intel as white faced engineers raced to throw anything into the gap....even if not ready....and we all know it was not ready....is not now ready....and may never be ready as AMD is a fast moving target and Intel is Dinosaurus Thrashedus.
Once AMD gets their next ver out and multiple CPU support chips sets are out and broad erosion will occur on all fronts of Intels ASP. They may end up as a holding company after AMD finsihes chasing them out of the CPU market.
