a little info for retired travelers....road warriors probably already know this.

5 years ago, i used a (then new) toshiba p-90 laptop and a cellphone. still have em.

i could get on-line but it was slower than molasses.

this morning, i am using my new toys...a dell 7500 laptop with 450 processor and a motorola timeport...the connection is mucho, mucho faster than i expected.

the phone is dual mode, smaller than and probably weighs less than a pack of cigarettes...offers >4 hours of talk time and 170 hours of standby between charges.
comes with all the software and hardware connectors, very well designed and secure belt holster, etc.
i bought a 12v adaptor and extra battery. got it at radio shack...they told me i can take it to any radio shack anywhere for exchange or service. paid an extra $59 for 3 year service...but, for that you can exchange the lithium battery every year and it costs $109.

had a minor setup problem...called....got help immediately....took about 2 minutes to solve my problem
now i know why gg likes motorola.
