Missed 7.

7. Bush doesn't stand for anything except that whole "compassionate conservative" slogan (or was that reformer with results? It gets confusing). This will become increasingly clear as Bush and Gore debate, which Bush cannot avoid forever. Advantage to Gore.

>>. McCain is twice the man that GW is and hasn't lived a life of privilege. He's a much more palatable person, bad temper and all.

Baloney. McCain is the son and grandson of Admirals. He got to Annapolis because of them and then was at the bottom of his class. He married an heiress after he dumped the crippled wife who had faithfully waited all those years he was away. The crippled wife had spared him the news that she had been severely injured and McCain's payback was to be unfaithful and dump her for a rich, young wife that could support him. The heiress gave him a do-nothing job with her father's business. Then they bought him his seat in Congress, where he made a name for himself as a charter member of the "Keating Five".

McCain didn't win a majority of the GOP vote in ANY primary. McCain was the Media candidate and nothing else.

>>1. He won't focus on paying down the national debt and shoring up SS.<<

Strike One - You don't understand the Federal budget, the Federal debt or how Social Security works. McCain's own economic advisor has admitted that McCain is an economic illiterate too, that McCain never paid attention:

>>2. He's going to be labeled as a willing puppet to the religious right<<

Strike Two - Thanks to McCain and his desperate, hate-filled attacks. That put McCain out of business. Polling shows morality to be the #1 issue, which hurts Dems. Polling also shows that people, other than hard core Dems, don't believe Bush is a tool of the Far Right.

>>3. Gun control. With Clinton bringing the gun manufacturers to their knees it's becoming obvious who can get things done in Washington. Most Americans don't see anything wrong with gun locks. And, contrary to Bush's position, it isn't hard to enforce gun lock laws. <<

Strike three - you don't know Bush's position, because he does support gun locks. And where does McCain differ?Besides, the gun debate hurts Dems overall.

You are already out, but there's still more:

>>4. Campaign finance reform. Granted, both Bush and Gore are targets. But, Bush is making a complete ass out of himself by disregarding those who supported McCain's reform platform. <<

Strike four- Boy is the pot calling the kettle black. McCain has an unprincipled position which few support - it isn't reform and gives the Dems all the advantages. Bush will not support the McCain demagoguery.

>>5. Bush knows nothing about foreign policy.

Strike five - Most nominees who are governors haven't dealt with foreign policy on a daily basis yet they usually beat Washington insiders like McCain and AlGore and go on to win the Presidency.

Bush has fine advisors and will be a marked improvement over Clinton/AlGore. McCain has definite weakness in foreign policy, as he seems ready to engage all over the world.

>>6. The more people are exposed to Bush, the less they like him.<<

Strike six - That's far truer of McCain. Bush leads AlGore and placing McCain on the ticket loses California, otherwise a Bush win.

McCain is disliked by most who know and have worked with him. McCain is not a leader by any means, he could never govern..

Apparently you can't count so we'll skip seven.

>>8. The press HATES Bush. They don't trust him because he won't give them adequate access. And for good reason. He's can't stand on his own two feet.<<

Strike eight? - The press always hates the GOP nominee. They created McCain to hurt Bush. If McCain had won they would have turned on him.

AlGore allows no access and the press loves him.

>>Clearly I don't like Bush. Being Governor of Texas makes Bush qualified to be Lt. Gov. of Texas (which is where the real power is in TX anyway). I won't vote for Bush and if the GOP pisses me off enough, I won't vote for any Republicans. If the GOP continues on its present course, count me out.<<

Bizarre and illogical. So Bush wins just 69% of the vote in Texas when he becomes President.

The stupid and corrupt gave US eight years of Clinton/AlGore, they should not be allowed to hurt the US anymore.

What is your opinion of Gore and Clinton? Do you feel they have values you can live with?
