We have differing opinions of the quality of Gore's environmentalism, and of the importance of biodiversity. I have no problem with some amount of environmental regulation, but the very successes you point to put into question the need for drastic action........

Brian, Al Gore is completely controlled by environmental lobbyists in Washington. They're probably pouring millions of dollars into his campaign even as we speak. Of course, we have no way of knowing that since he doesn't report his contributions on the web the way George W. Bush does. I guess the inventor of the internet hasn't figured out database management tools yet.

It seems strange that you would on the one hand admire McCain for taking on the lobby groups and on the other hand admire Al Gore for being a puppet of the environmental lobbyists.

Have you read "Earth in the Balance"?
