Gary, I'd say there is no chance that ESI will enter the optical networking arena. They use lasers to position, trim and drill. This is a totally different from optical networking. Still, if you look at what they do, it is an elemental production tool for making every kind of high precision electronics item, including networking equipment. While different than optical networks, also a good foundation for investment.

Gary,

take a look at GSLI. They are a diversified laser tech company, with a toehold in optics. That's a wild card, though. The main reason to invest in the company are their industrial, medical and semiconductor applications.
