Subject: Thread Bloat

While it appears that Tekboy, Enemy #1 of thread bloat, is probably online at the very moment I write this, it is ever more appropriate that we discuss his contribution to the San Diego gossip.

All of you know that he contributed mightily to 100's liquid lunch, not to mention to all of our noon-time enjoyment with an offering of wine that was certainly deserving of King Arthur's Court. What you might not know is that the San Diego Tribune Union (or is it Herald Tribune?) picked up on it and ran a blurb on March 16. Not only did the writer mention the exact wine that 100 attempted to pour from an unopened bottle, it was also mentioned in the blurb that the cost of the wine exceeded the cost of the food by a magnitude of about five to one.

Where the author got it very wrong was when it was reported that we consumed tekboy's wine while celebrating our new-found wealth due to investments in Qualcomm. Now we all know we were celebrating lots and lots of things much more important than anyone's financial health, not the least of which was that we knew reaction to this incident would add yet more bloat to the thread, incensing our good friend tekboy even more.

Your turn, Frank. :)
