Metrocall Launches B-2-B Advertising Campaign For 'My2Way' Advanced Wireless Messaging Services ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Metrocall, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCLL) today announced the launch of an initial eight-week flight of a nationwide multi-media business-to-business advertising campaign to promote its new two-way wireless messaging products and services. Starting this week, the Metrocall-sponsored ads will feature both the Motorola 2000X and the Glenayre AccessLink II two-way messaging products. The advertising campaign will be viewed on national cable television network programming -- including CNBC's Market Watch -- aired on the nationally syndicated Imus In The Morning radio program, as well as seen in print advertising in The Wall Street Journal, Fortune and BusinessWeek magazines and in the Network of City Business Journals in 62 major markets across the nation. "Metrocall's advanced messaging two-way products are the perfect solution for large and small corporations that want to maintain cost-effective communications between the office, field operations, the sales force and other highly mobile executives and employees," stated William L. Collins III, Metrocall's president and chief executive officer. "The ad campaign is designed to show the effectiveness of advanced two-way messaging versus other media to small business CEO's and key decision-makers in larger corporations," he added. "The television commercials demonstrate the unobtrusiveness of two-way peer-to-peer messaging and the 2000X's Internet query capability," stated Michael T. Scanlon, Jr., Metrocall's senior vice president for marketing and communications. "Veteran Major League Baseball fans may recall former Minnesota Twin-Washington Senator-New York Yankee infielder and now businessman, Bernie Allen, who is featured in one Metrocall television commercial which features the Internet query capability," Scanlon added. The initial flight of the multi-media advertising campaign will run from the first week of April through the first week of June, 2000. A second flight of advertising for Metrocall's advanced messaging two-way products and services will follow in the fall, 2000. Metrocall, Inc., headquartered in Alexandria, Va., is one of the largest wireless data and messaging companies in the United States serving more than six million (pro forma with recently announced acquisition of NationPage) subscribers. In addition, Metrocall markets digital PCS phones and offers two-way messaging via a nationwide wireless data network. Metrocall is the largest equity owner of Inciscent, an independent business-to-business enterprise, that is a national full service "wired-to-wireless" Application Service Provider (ASP).
