An excellent question for the board to ask prospective Eric replacements. However, I sense that in the "new" economy, wild success is balanced on a knife edge with abject failure.

If one can explain to me how the management of the #2 networking company could possibly have performed so poorly over the last 3 years, I would be grateful.

Glad you'll be hanging around even if you don't have a financial interest. 120% is not bad, but your point is well taken. A colossal mismanagement job; I'm sure there will be a book some day.

Now that you won't be watching the tick-by-tick moves, how about fixing your profile? It crashes my browser every time I try and load it, requiring me to reboot to rid myself of the modal error box. Puhhhleeeease!

By the way, I'm waiting to see what the afternoon holds before lightening up. If it's true to form, it will rally into the close, and then the hammer will fall.

Lack of vision I think is part of it. Seems Mr Casey had "vision" when he dumped USR, he just didn't sell it to the right company. Or at the very least didn't sell to the right company with the right management!

Never made sense to me 3Com buying USR for the modems. The RAS equipment I could see, and of course that lovely little hand held.

BTW, Lakers looking like they want rings eh?
