Actually, it appears to be the 850Mhz-866Mhz floppsiemines as evidence that Intel has caught up with AMDs 1000 Mhz chip. <G>

There are rumors about that Intel will pre-announce, one of my newsletters even said the morning "don't be surprised if Intel announces better than expected earnings". I think it's highly unlikely, they haven't changed guidance this late in the quarter since at least '96.

I think the other things is what you mentioned before, a split. If Intel were to stay at these levels, and they have a good outlook in the conference call, they are definatly at the level where they traditionally split the stock. I think they need a vote to authorize the additional shares, not 100% sure thought.

But, to borrow some cliche's:
