SANTA CLARA, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- Is Yahoo gearing up for something big?

In a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Yahoo (YHOO: news, msgs) proposed raising the ceiling on the total amount of shares it's authorized to have outstanding. Yahoo, which has about 533 million shares outstanding, would be able to increase the ceiling of authorized shares to a minimum of 900 million shares and as high as 5 billion shares, according to the filing.
