some interesting facts that I was unaware of... 1.the 36% of the people that voted for the new president are native taiwanese 2.native taiwanese do not speak the same chinese language that "mainland" taiwanese speak, that is they do not understand each other. 3.the new president speaks native taiwanese 4.you are seeing the anger of mostly mainland chinese who now live in taiwan as these riots continue for the 3rd straight night 5."mainland" chinese do not like native taiwanese, infact they would prefer that taiwan go back to mainland chinese control 6.On taiwan, if you are a "mainland" taiwanese taxicab driver you usually do not pick up native chinese because you do not like them....and vise versa 7.the headquarters of the old taiwanese president is being stormed by his supporters because they feel he now supports the new president albeit behind the scenes. 8.this is a very complicated situation 9.all flights from taiwan are booked forever.....
