Fla. May Get Secretary of Barbecue

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) ? House Bill 1737 calls for the creation of an unusual new cabinet post: secretary of barbecue.

If enacted, the governor's appointee would be charged with promoting the enjoyment of barbecue and barbecue culture.

``I am very serious,' said Republican state Rep. George Albright, who filed the measure. ``It's a serious subject. Barbecue is big business in this state.'

It's also big business to Albright, co-owner of two barbecue restaurants.

The secretary of barbecue would serve a one-year term without pay.
