Joe Smith: Over the past three weeks, I have lost enough trying to catch the falling biotech knife. Fortunately, I have a hard and fast rule -- after each new purchase, I then place a STOP SELL order 10% below my purchase price. This is a great rule from Wm O'Neill, the owner/editor of Investor's Business Daily. I don't care what the circumstance or reason is -- if I lose 10% right at the start, the next 15% is inevitably down, not back up.

When the biotechs begin their rebound, I will buy back into the market leaders I have listed.
