Correct. they'll make money on the downloaded games and other ongoing services, ( or so says the bus plan!).

Lots of "shoulds" and "most likely's" there! I guess it really is a wait and see game for the x-box. An 18 month wait, at least. It's been many, many years since msft came out with a new product. Let's wait and see how they do with this new product!
