FWIW, I run a hospital, so my life revolves around healthcare, but I won't buy any biotechs. I owned some in small doses in the early nineties during the last biotech craze--I got killed. Healthcare is different than other businesses. First of all government payors-Medicare and Medicaid-account for the vast majority or expenditures. that means the usual laws of supply and demand don't work because government sets pricing, not the market. Second, it is an emotional business. If you think the things you read about pharmaceutical companies making profit off the backs of poor sick people are bad now, wait until profits on genetic cures get reported someday and watch the outcry to make it available to everyone regardless of ability to pay. You have already heard some of that from Tony Blair and Bill Clinton.
While I view my tech stocks as more of LTB&H, if I were in biotechs, I'd be trading, locking in profits every chance I got.
that's my free advice and worth every penny of it.
