Thanks to Idiot for letting me know Intel has issued a press release for today's launch of the 850 and 866 MHz Pentium IIIs. intel.com;

Last October, Intel introduced Pentium III processors featuring an integrated Level 2 cache that runs at the full speed of the processor core. This feature, named the Advanced Transfer Cache, enables application performance to scale with increasing clock frequencies. This technology is a key to the outstanding performance of the Pentium III processor. Most other processors on the market offer older technologies that keep the cache memory from operating at full frequencies, limiting the PC's full ability to deliver performance to the user. The Pentium III processor at 866 MHz provides a SPECint2000* result of 374 and a SPECfp2000* of 266. The 850 MHz version provides a SPECint2000 result of 356 and a SPECfp2000 of 240.**

As reported below, the supply problems plaguing the Coppermine Pentium III line persist. That being said, Intel states the new 850 and 866 MHz chips are available now, priced at $765 and $776 respectively in 1000 unit quantities.
