Swiss, you have been around long enough to know there is little choice for those that have margined themselves. That's what you have here....a margin squeeze to wipe out all the margin players. It's working too. I got off margin last week.....and I'll never use margin overnight again. The selling is forced........there is little choice for many folks. I seriously doubt all this selling is because people want to. And you should know that.

I have always wondered about this. You don't lose if you don't sell. Why would any one sell when the stock is going down? The only thing I can think of is, its not the individuals that cause the huge sell off. Could it be the institutions selling off in a huge way to maintain their returns performance and buy later on dips. Or do they have some sell programs which automatically sell when a stock dips below certain %?
