Lundin Oil Announces Further Delay in Sudan, January Production Update

VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2000--Lundin Oil AB (Nasdaq:LOILY - news; the ``Company') reports that activity on Block 5A
in the Sudan remains suspended due to continued logistical difficulties and safety considerations. The Company will continue to monitor the situation and the
progress of infrastructure improvements, with a view to commencing testing operations on the Thar Jath well as soon as practical.

Lundin Oil is the operator of Block 5A with 40.375% interest. The partners are Petronas Carigali with 28.5%, OMV with 26.125% and Sudapet with 5%.

In the meantime, exploration efforts will intensify in Libya and Malaysia where plans to drill up to four exploration wells are currently being finalised.

Lundin Oil's January net daily production remained steady at approximately 14,000 BOEPD (Malaysia - 6,000 BOPD on a working interest basis and the U.K. North Sea - 8,000 BOEPD).
Average daily production for all of 1999 was 13,870 BOEPD.
