Another US G* distributor taking orders on line: dishfix.com Norsat has added several G-specific pages and is selling equipment and service plans on-line Offers 300$ rebate for Iridium subs. Prices otherwise are absolutely identical to AirTouch, Manhattan Microwave, et. al. It's interesting that GMPCS is the only US distributor to break ranks from the GUSA "suggested retail price" and offer it's own pricing plan. Depending on the minutes used, GMPCS air time rates are 10-20% cheaper than the G*USA standard rates. I would like to see more creativity and competition among the US distributors...Otherwise GMPCS is going to eat their lunch and analysts calling distributors at random will continue to get reports of slow sales. (They won't get through to GMPCS 'cuz the phone lines are clogged with real customers <g>)

John, I'm in South Central which includes Anchorage, the Kenai Peninsula, the Matanuska/Susitna valleys, Valdez, and Prince William Sound. Many of the roads and trails run through deep valleys so I'd expect a lot of interference until they get another gateway. Someone questioned whether there would be many customers in Alaska. Keep in mind that travelers are one of the target markets for G*. A lot of people visit here.
