The skillful player (invests or bets) on what he already has in his hand, not what he's hoping to draw. The game is defined before the the bulk of the betting takes place.

The mistake that bad poker players make is misunderstanding the power (or weakness) of their intial hand, and dismissing the probabilities for other players. In this respect, they are gambling. The good player understands the numbers behind the game, and makes informed bets.

Being walked in baseball is less analogous to the market than improving a hand in poker, IMHO.

Anyone know when April options expire? Third Friday is Good Friday. Markets are probably closed?
