The volume of DDR ram found in all those new geforce graphics cards very likely exceeds the amount of RDRAM modules for PCs sold to date- if you dont count the one-time penetration of the sony playstation 2, which were custom manufactured in a pcboard layout surrounding the central processor that allowed rambus to eliminate many of their problems involved in pumping the data over a standard motherboard layout. Instead of using their ethernet-like data bus found in pc configurations, they connected the chips directly to the cpu of the playstation via 1/4 inch traces. All the major taiwanese motherboard manufacturers have announced support for DDR ram modules by summertime. And guess what? DDR ram is only about 15% more expensive than existing sdram. Stick a fork in rambus. It's done. (and down another 43 points as i type this) edit: down 47
