Ever looked at the layout of the playstation 2? I own one, and i've taken it apart. The RDRAM is situated directly next to the cpu, along the left and bottom sides.

One would expect them to be positioned close together. Even if they were touching, the trace lengths would be more than 1/4" (as long as they are on the same side of the board). Just look at the component footprints.

Don't forget that the clock generator and termination resistors also have to be connected.

KIS the fact that you and other ardent Rambus bears have now already bought rambus-equipped product proves my theory that the issues surrounding rambus success or failure are now transitioning away from technical issues, and more toward marketing strategies.

You obviously did not go to the trouble to import your rambus-equipped PS2 due to the technology. I can only conclude that you fell prey to the marketing and publicity, and got caught up in the excitement of this hot new product.
