My cable modem "dynamic address" has only changed once in six weeks that I have watched it.

My cable co. calls it dynamic. What should we call it - lethargic? I believe they maintain their prerogative to change it without warning to prevent enterprise class web-serving or d-i-y isp hosting from a predictable IP address.
