In more recent times, Nixon declared himself a "Keynesian"...Volker really reiterated the idea while raising rates to slow the economy in the early eigthies and AG in 1987 when he over tightened, causing the market to crash. He quickly learned after that.

I agree; I think AG did learn and I think that's why in part we have stayed out of a recession for the past 10 years.
