Loronix Information Systems, Inc. Announces U.S. Capitol Order DURANGO, Colo., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Loronix Information Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: LORX - news) today announced that it has been selected by the U.S. Capitol Police, through the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center and its prime contractor Litton TASC, for advanced networked digital video management systems. After months of in-depth evaluations, Loronix's CCTVware solutions have been chosen to help the Capitol Police implement advanced security and surveillance systems. Once the project is completed, the Loronix CCTVware networked digital video system will record video from approximately 500 cameras throughout 19 buildings, while archiving it for extended periods of time, all using advanced network technologies from Cisco Systems, Inc. This project is part of a five year, $5 million, contract award issued to Litton TASC by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center. Located in Cambridge, Mass., the Volpe Center provides technical research, analysis, and systems engineering services for the transportation and logistic needs of both civil and military government agencies. The Volpe/Litton TASC team has designed, and will install, this new closed-circuit television and networked digital video management system for the U.S. Capitol complex. ``After a very detailed market evaluation, Litton TASC, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe Center recommended Loronix as their networked digital video vendor of choice, making this the largest order we have received for a government agency program,' said Mr. Peter Jankowski, Chief Technical Officer for Loronix. ``Our system provides the advanced networked digital video features required by facilities with high security and surveillance demands, so we are pleased that it has been selected for the U.S. Capitol.' ``Also, in working closely with the Volpe Team, the Capitol Police and TASC on this project, we brought in Cisco Systems to assist with the networking requirements demanded by our advanced networked digital video management solution,' continued Mr. Jankowski. The network includes a Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switch, which delivers high-performance, multilayer switching solutions for both enterprise and service provider networks. The Loronix solution will simultaneously digitize, record, archive, and stream live video across a high speed Internet Protocol (IP) network for maximum flexibility, access, and overall system availability.
