Just talked to an Airtouch rep...neighbor of mine. His main grip about G* is that it is NOT worldwide and his perception was that it was going to be. Thinks the market is a very small niche (backpackers, etc.) The price isn't a prob he thinks because when cellular came out, the same high pricing was in effect. He was NOT aware of any advertising and thought there were only a couple hundred handsets in the US...well, now I think he is a bit out of the loop...but anyway thought I would relay my conversation. <H>

My favorite "hoped for" announcement : all G* handsets currently placed with paying customers; G* anxiously awaiting shipments of more from the manufacturers. I do not think this is so "far-fetched." Jon.
