Hong Kong, March 22 (Bloomberg) -- Asian computer chipmaker
stocks rose, paced by Samsung Electronics Co., Mosel Vitelic Inc.
and Chartered Semiconductor Ltd., as investors bet strong demand
in the U.S. market will lift chip prices.

Taiwan's TWSE Index rose 64.91 to 9069.39, rising for a
second day, led by computer memory chipmakers gained as some
investors bet prices of their standard chip may rebound after they
declined 42 percent so far this year.

Mosel Vitelic rose 6.3 percent to NT$67.50. Winbond
Electronics Corp. rose 5.8 percent to NT$82.00.
