Dear Marvin: No. Today it went up just over 7%. The highest I recall was around 25% the end of October 1987.

>Is this the largest one day rise in SUNW?

I only remember because it was right after one of my brothers turned 30 (and was not happy about it). He was very, very crabby and I was very, very happy.

Maybe someone with access to historic data can check the actual percentage and point gains. It was either October 29 or 30, 1987. It was not Halloween.

Regards,

Lynn

P.S. He's _still_ crabby. That's what happens when one only invests in bank stocks :)

P.S. 2: CMB just announced a 3:2 split and 17% increase in the dividend.

Today was certainly not the largest percent increase. A fairly recent example: from 50 1/8 to 55 1/8 (9.98%) on 4/21/99, then another 9.75% to 60 1/2 on the next day (4/22/99) -- a total gain of 20.70% in just two days!
