Gdog, QSRI & MOAT!! I don't know if this will have any effect on them but it looks interesting! Taken from RB Board:Tuesday March 21, 4:08 pm Eastern Time U.S. spot natgas prices move higher with NYMEX NEW YORK, March 21 (Reuters) - U.S. spot natural gas prices moved higher in tandem with a firmer futures market, finishing strong, industry sources said Tuesday.
``The demand is there. The Hub even traded above the screen at the end. This could mean some more strengthening tomorrow,' one gas trader said.
Swing physical gas prices at Henry Hub were quoted at $2.72-2.78, indicating a gain of about 2 cents from Monday's market.
Prices on Columbia Gulf clung to the Hub, with deals reported done at $2.72-2.77. Mainline gas sold at $2.77-2.82.
Like cash, April futures inched up to a high of $2.77 per mmBtu this morning, up 5.6 cents from Monday's settlement.
The 600-megawatt (MW) coal-fired unit 1 at the Fayette plant outside of Austin, Texas, is expected to remain shut for several weeks for maintenance, according to the Lower Colorado River Authority. The unit was first shut March 13 due to a boiler tube leak.
Florida Gas said it will replace 120 feet of 36-inch pipeline April 1-2 between Compressor Stations 12 and 13 (between Munson and Carryville, Fla.), limiting deliveries to about 1.15-1.25 bcfd.
Florida Gas' outage at Johnson's Bayou in Louisiana is continuing and expected to last until April 1. The Transco-Vinton/Calcasieu interconnect is completely shut in while operators replace three compressor units.
Southern Natural (Sonat) said through April 30 it will be conducting compressor station maintenance on both the North System and the South Louisiana Production Area, but exact volumes affected were not available.
Also, Sonat will be doing testing at its Muldon Storage Facility April 2-April 8, reducing injection and withdrawal capacity by about 36 percent each. This will be followed by testing at its Bear Creek Facility April 9-April 15, reducing capacity by 64 percent each.
ANR said it is performing maintenance on its Southeast Mainline, expected to continue until the end of May and reducing capacity by 100 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd).
In the Northeast, New York city gate prices on Transco followed another volatile session, with the market refusing to break through the $3 mark despite forecasts for warmer weather for the latter part of this week.
One reason for the firmness was the missing power generation in the Northeast, traders said. According to the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland power pool, there were 10,113 MW of generation off line today, up again from 9,580 MW on Monday.
Prices on Transco ranged from an early low of $3.05 to as high as $3.15, with most of the business getting done in the middle. Similarly on Texas Eastern, gas traded at $3.03-3.08.
In the Appalachian region, prices on Columbia were steady to higher at $2.88-2.90.
In the Midwest, prices on pipes like Panhandle and ANR held in the mid-$2.60s, though late business was seen done as high as $2.70. Chicago city gate was still at $2.76-2.77, sources said. The Northern at Demarcation market was quoted mostly at $2.65-2.66.
Northern said it will be performing maintenance in March and April on several units along its system in the Field Zone, which stretches from Kansas into Oklahoma and Texas.
