Modern Records signs Lil' Jay for big contract Modern Records Inc MZR Shares issued 19,680,000 Apr 10 close $0.75 Tue 11 Apr 2000 News Release Mr. Russ Regan reports Modern Records has signed a long-term recording contract with popular New Orleans Rap music group, Lil' Jay. The contract with Lil' Jay includes five new albums with the first album due for release in early July, 2000. Frank (Jay) Shamberger, Jr., and Lil' Shack, who make up Lil' Jay, are the founders of the group Paid, which has been together for approximately eight years. Their first single will include performances from platinum recording artists Lil' Troy and Fiend. Russ Regan, president of Modern Records, commented, "Lil' Jay brings a popular and contemporary sound to the Modern records label with their style of music. Jay is an outstanding rapper, writer and Paid is a very popular band in the club circuits throughout the Deep South and southeastern United States.
