Heinz, even though my studies have convinced me that TL & EV cannot be avoided it is taking so long that I am getting complacent! The manipulators have been so sucessful I start to think it can't happen in an election year but you never know. mike

Like you, I was surprised that he signed on for the extra term. I fully expected him to bail as did Robert Rubin and Alice Rivlin (his heir apparent). Must be that old saying about the corrupting powers of absolute power. (g)

Your comments regarding the degree of complacency are right on. I don't know when our society will be called upon to pay the bill for this one, but it is going to be breathtaking.
