Last week Nokia and Erickson, among others (including Microsoft to some extent), announced an alliance with Wi-Lan toward developing a wireless standard based upon Wi-Lan technology. Not being a "tech wizard" I am not sure (i) whether this would represent competition to HDR; and (ii) whether it might have some relation to the recent Nokia-Motorola announcement. Any thoughts?

Slacker..

Why havent we seen similair support for HDR?

How bout because it's NOT in Nokia's interest to see QCOM's ASIC business succeed. Who would want an army of ASIAN manufacturers to compete against?
