My pal GE: From Beefing.com The Dow was led by, who else, General Electric (GE, $151, up 10) today. Our old saying was "GE is the Dow" and that is still true these days. The company remains as big and as powerful as ever. They are an old-line company that appears to have embraced the New Economy, and the their new product pipeline seems ripe with promise. They have terrific revenue and income numbers, and their management is unquestioned. We know we are gushing, but this company is just awesome. G
