Jim,

It is not safe to assume that IBM's PC division is anyway coherent with the rest of the company. There was a time when they were buying Intel processors for $300, instead of buying a Cyrix processor manufactured by IBM Microelectronics, at cost.

IBM is making those DDR SDRAMs for their SERVERS - Netfinity, AS400 and RS6000.

CLUE TO THE CLUELESS -

IBM's NETFINITY SERVERS - their largest VOLUME of servers - ARE 100% INTEL BASED !!!
