GV - re: There are many other industries out there outside of technology
It was for that reason that I went after TYC and PFE in 1999. I got out of PFE with about a 20% gain but lost some on an option play after they dropped. I am ahead on TYC and made out very well with a big play in LEAPs when they dropped - 400 ZPAAF at 6, currently 21 1/2. That one play makes up for a lot of mis-steps on my options adventures.

But I have determined that I don't really have either the knowledge or interest to do much serious investment outside of high tech. I spend a whole lot of time with little "gut feel" in the other segments.

But I question your assumption that All four of the stocks that you mention are highly correlated

In the last 5 months, MSFT has been relatively flat, maybe 10% gain. INTC is a double, as is CSCO. CPQ and DELL are in the middle, both up about 50% from their November lows. They also don't move together - CSCO and INTC were going up in February, while DELL, CPQ and MSFT were going down.

That doesn't look like much correlation to me, but maybe I misunderstood what you meant.
