A--QCOM--Mentor Graphics Announces Winners of its 14th Annual PCB Technology Leadership Awards

SAN JOSE, Calif., Mar 21, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Mentor Graphics Corporation, (Nasdaq: MENT) announced the winners of its PCB Technology Leadership Awards at the PCB Design Conference West. Open to any designs created with Mentor Graphics(R)(R) PCB system solutions, the leadership awards attracted entrances from as far away as Australia and from many industries including aerospace, computer, cellular and data communications. A panel of industry-expert judges evaluated submissions for innovation, complexity, physical design and aesthetics. Designers earned awards in seven categories: Analog/RF; Digital; High-Speed; High Volume, MCM/Hybrid; Mixed Technology and University.
"Mentor Graphics, a long-time leader in board design solutions, has sponsored the PCB Technology Leadership Awards Program since 1987, making it the longest running awards program for PCB designers in the EDA industry," said Henry Potts, vice president and general manager of Mentor Graphics Board Systems Division. "This year we received impressive entries from leading companies in a variety of industries, demonstrating the innovation of board systems designers today."
This year the panel of judges included: Pete Waddell, Senior Editor of Printed Circuit Design Magazine; Mary Sugden, President of Copper Connection Inc.; Kate Mayer, President of Mayer Design Systems, Inc.; Cheng-Hua Ma, Advisory Engineer at Solectron Corporation; Bob Spaniol, Engineering Manager at PCB Engineering Fabricators; and Bernard Voss, Consultant for SiQual Inc.
Contestants were honored at a banquet dinner in San Jose on Monday evening.
