I few a days ago when Ford, GM, C, go together to form a auto parts exchange, I posted some where on si I can't remember where, if the FTC would question them about it as a virtual monopoly, I'm not alone in the thinking. see below.

<<Ford, GM, DaimlerChrysler Face FTC Probe on Web Plan, WSJ Says

Washington, March 22 (Bloomberg) -- Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp. and DaimlerChrysler AG are to be probed by the Federal Trade Commission over plans to combine their online purchasing operations, creating a company with purchasing power of more than $240 billion a year, the Wall Street Journal Interactive edition said. The inquiry could delay the start of the venture if it goes further than the preliminary stage, and will examine whether there is unlawful collusion among buyers or sellers. Some suppliers fear online purchasing could push prices down as carmakers gain a clearer understanding of their cost structures, the Journal said.

The proposed venture will initially focus on bulk purchases such as computers and office and cleaning supplies, and eventually will include more sophisticated parts for trucks and cars, analysts said. >>

Now we have to wonder if the B2B exchange movement will stymied by the above. My vote is that is will not once the Fed realizes that it will the part vendors and the car companies wheeling and dealing in better and fairer open structure.
