When I was 12 my dad and I went to Kentucky Lake for some fishing with a friend of my dad. He took one look at my spinning rod and off we went to the store. My dad bought me a Pfueger Supreme and matching rod. Spent the rest of the day in the backyard learning how to cast with it. Still have it and also my dad's. You had to keep the pall oiled on the level wind.

For several years I shot a Ted Williams pump gun. Never hung a shell once.
