Pravin,

Here is couple point from AMD's annual report which was just recently put up on their web site.

Currently AMD/Fujitsu's market share in flash is 29.6 %, 5% more than Intel. There continues to be excess demand and they are expanding short term production.

AMD owns 50% of the venture or 15% (and expanding) of the market. That is at lease 1.5 Billion in 2000 or average of nearly 400 million per quarter. Margins on these flash are very strong.

Communication division is growing fast and is profitable.

AMD continues to out do Intel in the high end. Spitfire, Thunderbird and Mustang are coming and Dresden should contribute in another quarter. The 0.18 transition and the new package design should cut cost further. Spitfire will look great head to head with the new Celeron, and Thunderbird once again will give AMD the unanimous performance crown. Mustang will get ready to do battle once Willamete shows up. AMD should certainly make some inroad in the commercial sector in the second half of the year. What is that DARBES says?

Thing are looking good :)

Mani

RE:"These FLASH projections for 2000 bode very well for AMD:"

Flash was one of the bright spots in an otherwise dismal MU earnings report. Further indication that flash will be a BAM BAM for AMD this Q.

All the best...

Jim
