Hi all - another view of CoreTek acquisition from Boston Globe, who is a local paper to CoreTek.

Most of the article is not new, except the following comment from Mr Alex Benik of Yankee Group, who is a research firm not tied to any investment house and thus can be seen less of a bias

'It sounds crazy to give up $1 billion for a company that's not even making anything yet,' said Alex Benik, a Yankee Group optical networking analyst. 'But for Nortel it makes sense, and down the road could be worth tens of billions' in increased market capitalization, if CoreTek helps it to dominate optical networking. It's widely estimated that optical networking will be a $50 billion market within four years.
