The essence of politeness is to not draw unnecessary attention to yourself, by engaging in loud or unusual behavior. Even if people are not offended, it is difficult, given our cultural norms, not to have suckling at table be disruptive. Just as with any other rude customer, a restaurant should be able to eject someone causing a commotion, who will not behave with more discretion. If the party is discreet, there will not likely be any trouble..........
