I would prefer that the whole business be discreet, and that there be booths and nooks for such things. I am talking only about an extreme situation that must be resolved by fiat. I think few customers are offended if the mother uses her head and has a nursing blanket, anyway......

By the way, if the place does not offend, why cross it off my list? Why should I, or the restaurant, be penalized for something that could be handled with a little forethought or tact? And there are times we consider whatever offense given to be unavoidable, and to pale in comparison to the good promoted. Thus, we do not forbid the ugly from restaurants, out of compassion for their situation, and a desire that their life not be more miserable. On the other hand, we expect them to be clean, which can be helped......
