Comment: kash took some profits today, hoping to buy back in lower, which given the runup to date this week, may prove wise...I'm not selling owing to my sense that a major runup could occur at anytime and the AMD will trade at $70 by end of April 13...kash is trying to time the swings...I'm just assuming $70 by April 13 and will sit on whatever transpires in between!

niceguy,

I don't think there is any timing the swings now...we are too close to earnings. If you look at a chart AMD is doing that straight up thing it likes to do where the 13 DMA separates from the 50 DMA.

I think it will keep this up with maybe with a couple of moves sideways right to earnings.

niceguy....I think it is more than coincidental that we both purchased our options at the same time the other morning. What did you base your trade on? I was going by the charts that said we had broken out of a short term downward trend.

The charts I'm following now show that we could get into an overbought situation in the next few days at 62 to 66, but that would be very short term. I would also guess that by earnings we could be well over 70 maybe even 80 (being a little too optimistic there maybe). It would probably be prudent to just hold and not try to trade these short term swings, though the rich premiums are making these much tougher to play now. Is there a point where you would bail on your April calls? Also does the Taiwan situation figure into any of your thinking?

Thanks niceguy
