the 1 GHz Pentium IIIs are not capable of SMP operation according to page 18. I can only speculate this is due to the special cooling requirements imposed by the chip."

It indicates that some logic in the design does not run at 1GHz. The special cooling requirements also indicate that the entire chip does not run at 1 GHz.

Does a 1.5 GHz Kryotech box have a 1.5 Ghz CPU?
