The very same story happen to me and many others in 1987 and I was wiped out. I used the lesson and fired all the brokers who had led me down the path and started to study the market deeply. Since that time I have become (to my mind) a very strong trader and have a very large position in the market still using margin as a useful tool. I learned several lessons, one not to let a stock own me. Also to listen to other people but to make my own decisions and to live with them good or bad. Hard lessons learned are very much remembered.
