I had the burning desire to write covered calls
I used to do that with poor results, I think it's a matter of anticipation and wanting to do something. If your margin is under control, shift those urges to selling puts. You get the satisfaction doing something but when it jumps up you don't have the anguish and mixed feelings.
(Yes I have been put a few times, but if you deal with companies you really like even getting put pays off in a relatively short time).

For what it's worth, I had the burning desire to write covered calls (I was thinking of the April 140's), against the Q today. The last time I had this feeling was around September, when it was about $175, pre-split. It then went on it's tear to $800 (pre-split), and the rest is history. I'm hoping this is a sign of good things to come!! But it sure is tough watching so many stocks race ahead, while the Q treads water.

Looks like your feeling was right. I generally don't do covered calls on Q either. I've been making an exception though with the July 250s and have sold them 2x before. Did it again today for 3.75. If I get called I'll retire. There are July 260 and 270 calls available as well. Could have sold the 270s for 2.50 at the close. That's pretty tempting if you're sitting on a pile of shares and hate doing covered calls. These higher strikes aren't available past July, so that'll be the end of it for me.
