Ibexx, your data backs this. The theory is the institutions started the warning rumor to panic retail investors so they would sell out to them at a nice low price. They've never done this before :^) - next step is issue upgrades after they're done buying.

I want to believe the cycle has struck again ....

Looking at LU's options chains, the very large open interests of April 60 & 65 calls certainly hurt the stock price.

My working hypothesis is that after mid-April, we shall see a great deal of improvement re. options - related stock dynamics.

Looking at the Thomson I-Watch chart for LUCENT for today (Wed 3/22), one sees mostly "Buy" indicators all day long with only two "Sell" indicators, one at 10:45 AM and one at 12:30 PM. I guess I can't quite understand why the stock price wouldn't have been rising with all the "buying" going on all day long according to the chart....anon
