Corel CEO predicts profits in '98 April 16, 1998, 7:45 a.m. PT OTTAWA--Corel chief executive Michael Cowpland, staring down angry shareholders who saw their stock tumble nearly 80 percent in 1997, said yesterday that they will be cheering him next year when he returns the software company to profitability. "I think the company will be so successful next year that we'll be having cheers from the audience," Cowpland told reporters following Corel's annual meeting.
